FAQ
What Should I Bring To a Portrait Session?
Bring clothes you are confident wearing. I don't recommend you go shopping hours before the session and start trying on new clothes for the first time in front of the camera. I always encourage bringing a couple more outfits than you think you need. It's aways nice to be prepared, rather than being upset that you forgot to bring something. Bring jewelry, shoes and accessories. They always make a picture better! Also, pack your bag the night before. That way you don't spend the hours and minutes before our session stressing out
Bring your favorite music playlist that makes you confident and relaxed. Music always makes a photo session go better! I like just about all styles of music.
Most importantly, bring yourself to a session! What do you mean? I mean "be you." If you don't wear a lot of makeup, don't wear a lot of makeup at the session, unless it's a specific look you're going for. It's important to me that you look at the pictures of yourself and they look like you, not someone else. You have your own sense of style. It should translate on camera. My job is to capture you, not manufacture how you look.
What are your COVID-19 protocols?
- All gear and open studios are cleaned throughly after use by the staff and before opening up each day.
- All guests must sign a COVID-19 Protocols & Policies Form during their visit to the space.
- Masks are optional.
- All public spaces are cleaned each day and deep cleaned 2-3 times per week (as needed).
- Your temp will be taken upon entry and you must sign in each day.
Do You Have Rules? Yes!
NO CELL PHONES: In order to get the best session out of you, I need you to be focused. Cell phones are a distraction and therefore I ask that they be put away during a session.
NO EXTRA PEOPLE: Unless it's a couples shoot, please leave your significant other at home. Other people at a shoot are a distraction and they will absolutely get in the way of progress. If you want to bring a friend along to be comfortable, help you with makeup and hair, that's fine, as long as they let us do our work.
SUBSTANCES: I prefer clients do not show up intoxicated and I reserve the right to cancel the session if they do. Glazed eyes look exactly like glazed eyes on camera.
CANCELLATIONS: All of my sessions require a non-refundable 50% deposit. If you cancel the session within 72 hours of the originally scheduled time, I am keeping the deposit. Other people who will pay me want to shoot when we shoot, so if you're going to cancel on me when I could have shot with them instead, I'm keeping the deposit. If you ask to reschedule before 72 hours before the session we can reschedule and your deposit will roll over into the rescheduled session.
How Long Does a Session Last?
It varies depending on many factors, but typically 2-3 hours. I have half day and full day rates.
How Should I Prepare?
Pinterest is your friend! Go find pictures you love and get inspired in the days leading up to a shoot. A great shoot is about planning and execution. We are mutually invested in the outcome. Your opinion matters. Speak up. Tell me what you like, and don't like. I promise it will result in a better experience. We will go over all of your ideas before I even pick up the camera.
